In November 1904 the first Holt track-type tractor was tested in California USA. The machine with its crawling tracks was said to resemble a caterpillar. In 1910 Holt registered caterpillar as a trademark and in 1925 Holt manufacturing company and CL Best tractor Co. merged to form Caterpillar. When you are physically active your body produces heat and moisture. If your underwear becomes wet the risk of excessive heat loss is high. So during varied activities in cold conditions you are likely to become too warm and then too cold, depending on the intensity of activity.

The Fortec safety footwear V12 range, supplied by Delf Coldwear Solutions is built for strength. The vintage leather is full gain cowhide which has been produced using special methods which allow the natural finish to show through, each hide is unique with its fence marks and burrs giving an aged effect.

The leather has been tested and selected for its tear strength, water vapour permeability and suitable pH level to ensure total comfort and long wear. The craftsmanship involved in making the V12 footwear uses traditional shoe making skills, which take time to learn. Every pair is built to last.

All the V12 are Goodyear Welted. Charles Goodyear produced the very toughest work boots. The upper is attached to the sole by lock stitching through the welt to ensure they stay together for good. Below are just 3 samples of the V12 range.
