In November 1904 the first Holt track-type tractor was tested in California USA. The machine with its crawling tracks was said to resemble a caterpillar. In 1910 Holt registered caterpillar as a trademark and in 1925 Holt manufacturing company and CL Best tractor Co. merged to form Caterpillar. When Holt and Best joined forces they built the company based on progress and integrity.In the early 1990’s caterpillar moved in to consumer orientated-branded merchandise, providing functional footwear and workwear.
